The Quebec Network on Intelligent Energy (RQEI) and the Energy Squad are pleased to present the 9 scholarships awarded as part of the call for projects for the supervision of inter-institutional and inter-order research in green hydrogen and bioenergy.<\/p>\n

The RQEI and the Energy Squad have launched a national call for proposals as part of the green hydrogen and bioenergy agreement with the support of the Minist\u00e8re de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs (MELCCFP).<\/p>\n

Nine inter-order couples will receive a grant of $37,500 per year to develop a sustainable synergy of inter-order research teams, a total of $1,350,000 will be spread over 4 years. This measure will allow 34 students to be trained and to bring out new research projects. <\/p>\n

Here are the nine inter-order<\/strong>\u202f<\/strong> research supervision projectsFunded:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Study of the combination of bioenergy and other renewable energy sources for the supply of heat to sites isolated from the large hydroelectric grid <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is led by: Gildas R. Tapsoba, Centre TERRE and Jasmin Raymond, INRS.<\/p>\n

Development of electrochemical processes for the production of ammonia as a hydrogen carrier<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is led by: Christian D\u00e9silets, CNETE; Jesse Greener, Universit\u00e9 Laval and Daniel Guay, INRS.<\/p>\n

Improving the accounting of the carbon footprint of processes for converting forest biomass into bioenergy products<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is led by: Jean-Philippe Jacques, Innofibre; Papa Diouf, SEREX; \u00c9velyne Thiffault, Universit\u00e9 Laval<\/p>\n

Study and design of a hybrid Microbial\/Hydrogen\/Solar energy system for an isolated wastewater treatment plant.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is led by: Hussein Ibrahim CEGEP-SI; Oumarou Savadogo, Polytechnique and Lyne Woodward, \u00c9TS.<\/p>\n

Production of a biofuel for the maritime industry from lignin<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is led by: David Gagnon, Kemitek; Esma In\u00e8s Achouri, Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke; Bruna Rego De Vasconcelos, Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke.<\/p>\n

Optimization of the production of green H2 from variable energy sources and its use in cold climates.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is led by: Karim Belmokhtar, Nergica; Luiz A.C. Lopes, Concordia.<\/p>\n

Production of an improved biooil and a high-energy syngas by pyrogasification coupled with catalytic reforming from woody biomass<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is led by: Pierre B. Kasangana, SEREX; Jean-Michel Lavoie, Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>What place for green hydrogen and bioenergy in the energy transition of the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gasp\u00e9sie-\u00celes-de-la-Madeleine?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is led by: Virgile Deroche, CIRADD; Lo\u00efc Boulon, UQTR; Julia Frotey, INRS; Audrey Groleau, UQTR; Cynthia Morinville, UQTR; Eric Peterson, INRS; Aude Porcedda, UQTR.<\/p>\n

Characterization, testing and guidelines for the use of mixtures of e-methanol and marine (bio)diesel as a drop-in solution on board ships operating on the St. Lawrence.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is led by: Mareen Thiboutot Rioux, IMAR; Fa\u00ef\u00e7al Larachi, Laval University.<\/p>\n

These scholarships will enable players in the innovation chain to accelerate research and propel Qu\u00e9bec to the forefront of knowledge and emerging technologies in these fast-growing fields. Each of the projects promotes the development of the next generation of highly qualified scientists. <\/p>\n
