Elle \u00e9tudie l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique des b\u00e2timents et des infrastructures dans l\u2019espoir d\u2019am\u00e9liorer leur profil \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et leur r\u00e9silience. Ses recherches se concentrent sur les technologies de stockage d\u2019\u00e9nergie thermique, les syst\u00e8mes CVCA \u00e9co\u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques et leur contr\u00f4le.&#13;\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>&#13;\n<p>\n<strong>Contexte : <\/strong>Au Qu\u00e9bec, alors que le secteur r\u00e9sidentiel repose sur l\u2019hydro\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 comme source d\u2019\u00e9nergie propre, il semble que l\u2019am\u00e9lioration progressive de l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique du secteur des b\u00e2timents commerciaux et institutionnels pourrait \u00eatre associ\u00e9e \u00e0 des impacts tangibles pour l\u2019atteinte des cibles de r\u00e9duction de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre.&#13;\n<p>\n<strong><br\/>Q1. Qu&#8217;en pensez-vous et comment les universit\u00e9s peuvent-elles soutenir la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique dans le secteur du b\u00e2timent institutionnel ?\u00a0<\/strong>&#13;\n<p>\n<strong>R1<\/strong>: Le secteur institutionnel fait face \u00e0 plusieurs d\u00e9fis : un parc immobilier vieillissant, des besoins croissants pour des \u00e9coles, des centre de soins de longue dur\u00e9e et, derri\u00e8re tout \u00e7a, la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d&#8217;exemplarit\u00e9 de l&#8217;\u00e9tat dans toutes ses actions. La recherche universitaire permet de supporter la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique en d\u00e9veloppant des outils et des techniques de gestion de la demande des b\u00e2timents, permettant d&#8217;augmenter la part des \u00e9nergies renouvelables dans le portefeuille \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique des b\u00e2timents sans nuir \u00e0 leur r\u00e9silience. Mais, encore plus important \u00e0 mon avis, les universit\u00e9s permettent de former les experts et professionnels qui appuieront et ex\u00e9cuteront cette transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique. \u00c0 travers la formation qu&#8217;elles donnent aux \u00e9tudiants d&#8217;aujourd&#8217;hui, les universit\u00e9s ont la possibilit\u00e9s d&#8217;amplifier et acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer cette transition, en outillant les personnes qui devront la mettre en place et la maintenir.\u00a0&#13;\n<p>\n<strong>Q2. Quelle est la place du stockage thermique pour l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique des b\u00e2timents ?<\/strong>&#13;\n<p>\n<strong>R2:<\/strong> Le stockage thermique agit sur la deuxi\u00e8me composante de la g\u00e9rance environnementale ; il permet de r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer et\u00a0r\u00e9utiliser de l&#8217;\u00e9nergie qui serait autrement perdue. Les b\u00e2timents rejettent continuellement de l&#8217;\u00e9nergie. On peut penser aux rejets de chaleur lorsqu&#8217;on climatise\u00a0une salle de serveur ou un comptoir r\u00e9frig\u00e9r\u00e9 au supermarch\u00e9 ou encore \u00e0 l&#8217;eau chaude qu&#8217;on jette dans les \u00e9gouts apr\u00e8s un cycle de lavage dans une buanderie. Le stockage thermique permet de capter cette \u00e9nergie, la\u00a0conserv\u00e9e en attendant de l&#8217;utiliser plus tard. C&#8217;est aussi un puissant outils de gestion de la demande de puissance des b\u00e2timents sur le r\u00e9seau \u00e9lectrique. Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec a d&#8217;ailleurs particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la conception d&#8217;unit\u00e9s de stockage thermique \u00e9lectrique qui visent \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la demande de puissance des b\u00e2timents durant les p\u00e9riodes de pointes hivernales. Il ne faut pas oublier que bien que l&#8217;hydro\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 soit tr\u00e8s propre, nous sommes de tout de m\u00eame forcer de nous approvisionner ailleurs en p\u00e9riode de pointe hivernale car les besoins exc\u00e8dent pr\u00e9sentement\u00a0la capacit\u00e9 de production durant ces p\u00e9riodes. La transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique qui est en cours et qui \u00e9limine\u00a0progressivement l&#8217;usage des combustibles dans les b\u00e2timent ajoutera des besoins sur le r\u00e9seau \u00e9lectrique pendant ces p\u00e9riodes de pointe. Le stockage thermique permet de d\u00e9caler ces besoins vers d&#8217;autres moments o\u00f9 le r\u00e9seau est moins charg\u00e9 ce qui permet d&#8217;augmenter la part des \u00e9nergies renouvelables dans le portefeuille \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique des b\u00e2timents, de r\u00e9duire leur bilan de GES et celui du r\u00e9seau \u00e9lectrique tout entier.\u00a0D&#8217;importantes activit\u00e9s R-D sont men\u00e9es par des membres du RQEI\u00a0(\u00c9TS, Transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique Qu\u00e9bec, Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec, Canmet\u00c9nergie, Concordia) afin d&#8217;appuyer le d\u00e9ploiement de technologies de stockage thermique tant au niveau de leur conception, de leur dimensionnement et de leur commande.\u00a0&#13;\n<p>\n<strong>Q3. Quelle est la place de l\u2019intelligence artificielle pour l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique des b\u00e2timents ?\u00a0<\/strong>&#13;\n<p>\n<strong>R3:\u00a0<\/strong> L&#8217;intelligence artificielle, et la science des donn\u00e9es en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, est un outil de plus qui nous permettra d&#8217;am\u00e9liorer l&#8217;op\u00e9ration des b\u00e2timents en ce qui a trait \u00e0 leur efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique certainement mais aussi en terme de confort des occupants, au niveau de la r\u00e9silience et de la flexibilit\u00e9\u00a0\u00e9nerg\u00e9tique \u00e9galement. Je suis particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ress\u00e9e par les opportunit\u00e9s que pourraient fournir les r\u00e9centes avanc\u00e9es dans le domaine pour identifier plus rapidement les\u00a0 b\u00e2timents qui seraient de bons candidats pour certaines strat\u00e9gies connues en gestion de la demande. Imaginez que, lors de la mise en place d&#8217;un nouveau programme de subvention ou d&#8217;une nouvelle structure tarifaire, Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec pourrait utiliser un outil lui permettant d&#8217;identifier\u00a0les b\u00e2timents qui sont de bons candidats potentiels \u00e0 ce programme, simplement en analysant leur profil \u00e9lectrique et quelques donn\u00e9es g\u00e9n\u00e9rales, fournies par les r\u00f4les d&#8217;\u00e9valuation fonci\u00e8re par exemple.\u00a0&#13;\n<p>\n<strong>Q4. Que pensez-vous des enjeux li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019acceptabilit\u00e9 sociale en gestion \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique intelligente des b\u00e2timents ?\u00a0<\/strong>&#13;\n<p>\n<strong>R4:<\/strong> Je trouve cette question tr\u00e8s importante. Bien qu&#8217;elle est pr\u00e9sente dans l&#8217;industrie depuis des d\u00e9cennies, je suis heureuse qu&#8217;elle soit remise \u00e0 l&#8217;avant plan d\u00fb aux r\u00e9centes avanc\u00e9es technologiques. Il y a des question importantes qu&#8217;on doit se poser comme propri\u00e9taire de b\u00e2timent, comme occupant, comme op\u00e9rateur, comme concepteur. Quelles donn\u00e9es est-il acceptable de soutirer aux occupants pour op\u00e9rer un b\u00e2timent? Comment ceux-ci peuvent-ils offrir leur consentement? Est-ce que ces r\u00e9ponses\u00a0changent selon que l&#8217;objectif est d&#8217;optimiser le confort des occupants et la qualit\u00e9 de leur environnement int\u00e9rieur ou la performance \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique du b\u00e2timent? Les occupants vont-ils juger une mesure d&#8217;\u00e9conomie \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique trop d\u00e9rangeantes vis-\u00e0-vis de leurs activit\u00e9s quotidiennes? Comment balancer les besoins et les droits des individues et de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, dans l&#8217;imm\u00e9diat et sur le long-terme? Des experts de diff\u00e9rentes disciplines (ing\u00e9nierie, \u00e9conomie, sciences sociales, philosophie, chimie, et j&#8217;en passe) doivent se regrouper autour d&#8217;une m\u00eame table car toutes ces perspectives sont n\u00e9cessaires pour adresser ces questions\u00a0importantes. Dans les b\u00e2timents institutionnels particuli\u00e8rement, cette question va devenir un r\u00e9el enjeu car on doit trouver un \u00e9quilibre entre, d&#8217;une part le droit des individues \u00e0 la vie priv\u00e9e et de l&#8217;autre, le r\u00f4le de l&#8217;\u00e9tat \u00e0 fournir des b\u00e2timents confortables et efficace.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0&#13;\n<p>\n\u00a0\r\n<p>\n\u00a0\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Quebec,
