The RQEI took part in the “Women in Science” day organized by Technoscience-Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec on February 16, 2024. Forty young girls from various secondary schools had the opportunity to visit
Fun and interactive activities were organised with the aim of challenging stereotypes related to scientists, especially women, while opening up the debate on the challenges and solutions of the energy transition. Enlightening explanations on the research around hydrogen as an energy vector were presented. Between passionate discussions and sharing of experiences, the participants captivated their audience by presenting their work and explaining their commitment to a greener future. The relevant questions asked by the students, particularly on the impact of research in energy transition and on the climate, showed a remarkable maturity in ecological issues and a keen interest in science as an integral part of the solution. It is essential to maintain this interest and encourage it through other similar activities that could be scheduled wherever RQEI members are present and interested. A huge thank you is extended to all the people who contributed to the reception of the students and who took part in the role play of inspiring scientific models.
