Axis 3, a fundamental multidisciplinary area, is based on materials science and engineering. It covers the management of renewable and transient energy sources, their integration into the distribution network and their use in vehicular or stationary systems, which relies on the ability to efficiently store and convert this electrical energy, either for short and medium durations (hours/days) or for long durations (months/seasons).
