The worsening environmental problems associated with the consumption of fossil fuels are forcing us to reconsider the whole issue of energy production from diversified and renewable sources, storage and conversion, distribution, as well as the various energy applications in all sectors of consumption, including transportation and buildings. The concept of smart energy represents a set of technological innovations to overcome these problems in an integrated approach, from the energy source to the point of consumption (home, business, mobility). It supports the ongoing energy transition through the development of smart vehicular (transportation) and stationary (grid and building) applications based on energy storage and conversion technologies, all of which are managed in real time through advances in information technology (IT) and artificial intelligence (AI).

On December 4 and 5, come and discuss the current and future challenges of smart energy and help guide tomorrow’s energy research and policies.
