The 2025 Quebec Games: When Science Meets Sport!

From July 25 to August 2, 2025, Trois-Rivières vibrated to the rhythm of the 59th Finale of the Jeux du Québec, bringing together thousands of young athletes from across the province. The Quebec Network on Intelligent Energy (RQEI) was there to link science, sport and energy transition, and to make energy sciences shine among young people.

For about ten days, four passionate student-researchers animated the athletes’ village at CAPS/UQTR as well as the playground at the port park. Through open discussions, interactive demonstrations and fun activities, they discussed today’s energy solutions and tomorrow’s innovations, in a language that is accessible to all.

The hundreds of visitors were able to:

• Participate in science games around energy and movement

• Exchange with enthusiastic and available young researchers

• Discover how science can become a game, research a meeting, and sport a real driver of dialogue on our energy future!

Other science outreach activities are scheduled for the fall of 2025 across different regions of Quebec, stay tuned!
