Location: Laval

Ali Hakkaki-Fard is an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Université Laval. His research focuses on energy efficiency and renewable and sustainable energy systems. His research focuses on three main areas: geothermal energy, ejector cooling systems and photovoltaic thermal systems. However, he is also interested in green hydrogen production, district heating and building energy systems. Her main research goal is to make green energy accessible and affordable for all.

He received his Ph.D. from McGill University in 2011. His doctoral research focused on the numerical analysis of flow fields of unsteady reflections of shock waves. He joined CanmetENERGY-Natural Resources Canada in Varennes as a postdoctoral researcher in 2012. There, he studied air-source and geothermal heat pumps.

He left CanmetENERGY in December 2015 and joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology (UTS) in Tehran, Iran. He created the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Systems Lab at the same university. He left UTS and joined Laval University in August 2022.
