Presentation of the RQEI Student Committee

The student committee aims to mobilize RQEI students and organize activities bringing together industries, universities and colleges to support energy research in Quebec. Several activities will be organized during the year such as conferences, student competitions, workshops, networking meetings, among others!

Arnaud Beaulac

École de technologie supérieure

President of the RQEI Student Committee

Arnaud Beaulac received his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from École Polytechnique Montréal in 2019. He then worked for 2 years in the manufacturing field as a Process Engineering Project Manager. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in engineering in energy efficiency and renewable energies at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). Over the next few years, he will design an energy archetype for the modeling of greenhouses in the Quebec context.

Camille-Laurie Normandeau

École de technologie supérieure

Student representative on the RQEI strategic committee

Camille-Laurie Normandeau obtained her B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from ÉTS in 2020. During her studies in 2019, she joined Prof. Kamal Al-Haddad in his laboratory at GREPCI and worked with a master’s student on multilevel converters. Since then, she began her master’s degree (M.Sc.A) under Prof. Al-Haddad for a collaborative project between ÉTS, OPAL-RT, and IREQ. His research focuses on modeling, optimisation, and control of grid-connected distributed energy resources (DERs), including photovoltaic panels, energy storage systems, and electric vehicle chargers.

Ulrich Landry Compaoré

Polytechnique Montréal

Student representative on the RQEI scientific committee

Ulrich Landry Compaore obtained his M.Eng and M.Sc.A degrees in renewable energy. He is pursuing his PhD in metallurgical engineering and is a lecturer in energy efficiency, photovoltaics and energy storage at the Université d’ingénierie polytechnique de Montréal. He has also worked in solar power plant construction projects in Mali and Burkina Faso under financing from the World Bank, the European Union and the African Union.

Nassim Noura

University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières

Member of the RQEI Student Committee

Nassim obtained his M.Sc degree in electrical engineering (specialty: intelligent electric vehicles) at the University of Lille in France. He then joined the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières to complete a PhD in electrical engineering, under the joint supervision of the University of Franche-Comté in France, under the supervision of Professor Loïc Boulon. His research focuses on the energy efficiency of hydrogen hybrid vehicles.

Since his arrival in Quebec, Nassim has been actively involved in the province’s energy transition. He has held various positions related to innovation, including a position as a research officer at the RQEI. He is currently Program Manager: Innovation and Energy Transition at the Quebec Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
