The guest speaker, Mr. Gabriel Durany, will present the AQPER’s 2030 roadmap in order to launch the discussions.

A graduate in electrical engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and holder of an MBA from HEC Montréal, Gabriel Durany has been at the heart of the development of renewable energies for more than 15 years. Whether with companies such as Kruger Energy and RES Canada or as an independent consultant, he has managed the development of renewable electricity (wind, solar, hydroelectric) and bioenergy projects across Canada and the United States. In this capacity, he has acquired solid experience and expertise in development strategies, social license management, site prospecting, creation and management of asset portfolios, contract management and project financing. His career has led him to work in several jurisdictions, which allows him to understand the needs of the Quebec industry, the interests of our North American neighbours and, above all, what Quebec must do to differentiate itself nationally and internationally.

For the past 30 years, the AQPER has opted to encourage the production of renewable energy from independent sources and to maximize the recovery in the Quebec energy portfolio. In order to better align the energy deployment necessary for Quebec’s climate targets, the AQPER’s 2030 roadmap highlights strategic deployments based on three key actions:

  • Prepare
  • Mobilize
  • Start
