François Ruelland
Dr. Ruelland designed a simulator of electric railway networks to size power equipment and evaluate train performance. As a train control engineer, he developed an expertise in RAMS (Reliability Availability, Maintenability, Safety) of electronic systems during his work to extend and renovate the Montreal metro. He is the author of articles on the energy optimization of railway networks for the IEEE and for the AQTr.
Dr. Ruelland has been a lecturer in electric transportation at ÉTS since 2016. Since 2022, he has been a teacher at Cégep Limoilou in electrical engineering technology. He participates in research efforts in the field of community resilience. The aim is to propose new software or hardware means to support a community in the event of an energy failure, while taking decarbonisation into account.
